Also, Syd Livingston.

So about a month ago, I took a trip to LA, basically the first time I’ve been there since I was a kid.

So basically it was my first time there.

And I mean, it’s LA. You have all these like, preconceived notions about it.

But man, I’ve gotta say, I liked it a lot more than I was expecting to.

Just in terms of like, the people, the vibes.

In some ways, it was a lot more similar to NY than I expected, mainly from a people perspective. In a way, they feel like two sides of the same coin.

Someone shared this tweet with me, which is pretty funny and also kinda accurate:

I think also for me, like I was just really ready to experience something new, experience some good vibes. I was ready for this trip. It was basically one of my first trips on my own to somewhere I wanted to go pretty much for the first time since I got back from SF.

So I was just like, mentally ready. (I was physically ready, too ;p)

So yeah, we’ve come a long way in the last two years, and this trip was kind of a celebration of that.

But anyway, I’m not gonna get into it too much because I recorded some video stuff while I was there. Still working on it.

No promises.

(Well, I will give you this, basically once I get through the LA videos, my plan is to post a video a week. Lol, we’ll see how that goes.)

But also, like, I’ve been meaning to visit LA for a while, but that wasn’t really the point of my visit. LA is just another place, you know, of many very kewl places in the world. (Although, I’ve gotta admit, under different circumstances, I could totally see myself living there. Will definitely need some real estate there at some point. When I’m super rich. And a nice car. A nice car is key in LA. Maybe two nice cars. You know, like a chill, humble daily driver. And then something more flashy for the weekend.)

But yeah, the reason I visited LA was to see my good friend Vahe. (And actually the trip was made much better because, on a whim, my sister decided to join, too. And it was awesome.)

I met Vahe in SF and we became fast friends.

I’m not going to get into that too much either, cuz, you know, video.

But he has a super kewl story, and he’s just a super kewl dude.

Last fall, he left his engineering job, traveled around Europe for a few months, and then finally, he ended up in LA.

(I tried to sell him on NY, but my efforts were fruitless.)

But LA is a good fit for him.

It’s a good place to go on coffee dates, and Vahe is all about the coffee dates.

Anyway, the point of this post.

So Vahe is doing some music stuff these days. I had no idea he was so talented actually. Even though he was always a super talented engineer. Apparently he’s been playing guitar for over 10 years.

But I did always know that he was a rockstar at heart.

That much is clear the moment you meet him.

He recently released his second song.

Which is crazy because he like just started doing this stuff. From scratch. From nothing. And he does it all. He plays all the instruments. Writes everything. Produces everything. Performs everything. Records everything. Masters everything.

It’s all him.

It’s kewl because this is just the beginning of a new journey for a guy that I just love a lot.

When I met him, he was coding for a fintech company.

Now he’s chillin’ in LA, going on coffee dates, making music.

Most importantly, he’s just being more Vahe than ever before.

Which is just super kewl.

So you should check out his new song. It’s called Six-Foot-Four.

Top photo: Me and Vahe. On a coffee date, obviously. And also me and Vahe at the Korean spa. Where we saw each other naked.
